Buying a property in North Cyprus is very easy especially if you have the support of a reputable estate agent who will guide you through the process. Once you have found your apartment or Villa we would work on your behalf to secure the best deal available for you. Securing that price and the property will require payment of a deposit, normal between £1500 to £3000 depending on the price of the property. You should always ensure you have these funds available before you travel to North Cyprus. If you are serious about proceeding to purchase, often having the money ready to pay a deposit there and then will secure you the best deal.
Once the deposit is paid you would need to instruct a reputable Lawyer in North Cyprus to process the property purchase documentation for you.
They will prepare the sales/purchase contact for you and liaise with the vendor of the apartment of Villa on your behalf.
Once the contract is signed and exchanged your lawyer will regisiter your contract at the local land registry department. (Please see separate section below)
As a foreigner in order to take title of a property in North Cyprus you are required to obtain a purchase permit. Again, this is relatively straight forward and will be applied for by your lawyer. You will need to request a basic disclosure check from your country of origin.
This process can take up to one year but does NOT stop you from buying the property and completing the contract process. The registration of your contract with the land registry gives you all the protection you need until the title deed is transferred from the vendor into your name.
